INFREQUENTLY (IF EVER) ASKED QUESTIONS:
|
1. Just who the hell is Jim Painton? Jim is an elderly albino dwarf with crossed eyes, club feet, and a friendly smile. Knowing that he could never make it as a teenage heartthrob (because of the smile), Jim chose to hide away from civilization for over three decades. During that time he wrote and recorded hundreds of unknown hits. Wafting from his cave in the Ozarks came the smell of success... along with unbathed feet. With a nose for toes and an ear for noise, the daring Doc Demento plucked Jim from the obscurity of his own abyss. "mommmmm.com" became an overnight sensation, striking a familiar chord with Internet orphans the world over. 2. Why the five "m's" in "mommmmm.com"? Because the domain names "mom.com," "momm.com," "mommm.com" and "mommmm.com" were already taken. 3. Where can I hear Jim's song? You can wait for Dr. Demento to play it again... he's scheduled to do just that, in the year 2003... or, you can sample it by clicking on the words "IT'S TIME TO LOG ON!" |
4. Has Jim released anything else? Yes, besides a fair amount of gas, Jim has released an excellent CD of melodic rock tunes, entitled "Painton, A Picture." This can be purchased at cdbaby.com. 5. Does "Painton, A Picture" contain the track "mommmmm.com"? We were afraid you were going to ask that question. Although the CD features many fine samples of Jim's neo-nostalgic popular sound, which he likes to call "Grand Pop," "mommmmm.com" will be featured on Jim's soon-to-be-released collection, whose working title is "Working Title." 6. Does Jim record all by himself? No, he utilizes the modern nomadic facilities of Overdub Inc., musical missionary to reclusive stars. 7. Can I contact Jim Painton? Only if you haven't been immunized. Just kidding, that was a little medical humor. Yes, although Jim has left civilization behind, he took with him the three necessary tools for survival: a hammer, a chisel, and a laptop computer.
